Maynard Holliday is currently Performing the Duties of Assistant Secretary of Defense for Critical Technologies in the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering, where he oversees investment and capability analysis of the Pentagon's critical technology areas.
Previously he worked in the Global Talent Research group within the Engineering and Applied Sciences organization at the RAND Corporation. He offers dynamic specialized expertise with the ability to operate in a broad range of technical, policy, and cultural ecosystems to support technology innovation.
In 2014, President Barack Obama appointed Maynard to the role of Senior Technical Advisor under the tutelage of the longest-serving Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition, Technology, and Logistics (AT&L) in the history of the Pentagon.
Maynard is also a passionate advocate for STEM diversity and inclusion. He has served on numerous interagency panels and White House initiatives, including My Brother's Keeper, Citizen Schools, and Robot Garden, to promote diversity and inclusion in STEM industries.
